I’d donate but it means I will get harassed by 20-30 other races I’ve never heard before. This is a problem the party needs to fix.

Democracy dies because deleting junk emails is just too inconvenient for you. Got it.

If those junk emails and texts could save democracy, Trump would have lost. We need a new way forward, but for bow donating to Crawford is the best thing to do. (The Florida races are more like buying a lotto ticket with billions to one odds)

That is unfair Carrie.

Typical. Blame the voters. This is why we’re in the position we’re in.

I don’t think anyone blamed you or the voters. I think the suggestion was, in the scheme of things to worry or complain about, that your complaint may seem a bit picayune.

Are you not getting those now? One donation at this point won’t make a difference—if you gave last year, you’re already on all the lists.

Your inconvenience vs fascism. You decide.

I just donated, but WHAT exactly are our donations buying? Ads? Bribes? Meeting halls? WHAT, exactly? And WHY is it okay that all the elected offices in the U.S. must be "bought"??

Campaign expenses. And the majority of voters have chosen (many times) not to support campaigns through tax payments. Right or wrong, that’s the system we have.

Also, the average taxpayer spends far more on snack food per year than campaign contributions.

I really think should be one of the three things the party needs to run on and give concrete plans on what it will do. The country is sick of non stop campaigning and limitless budgets.

I think the other party has already cornered the market on “No More Elections”.

Please join phone banks for the APRIL 1 ELECTION! It's all hands on deck.

Do phone banks work? Are people really willing to pick up that phone and listen? I used to do all of that. Does it work anymore. The person who is sick of constant emails and asks is voicing a real thing, despite the criticism here.

It helps remind people who are infrequent voters. Yes much of the time people don't want to talk or hang up but your sifting through the chaff to find that handful of voters who need one extra little push

Thanks Dan, here's how I translated your post into an appeal...

There’s an incredibly important special election taking place in Wisconsin that will decide whether the state supreme court will have a Liberal majority or a MAGA majority. If MAGA, then this 50/50 state will likely be gerrymandered into a safe red state for years to come. Musk has already spent $10million to make that happen, and by all accounts, the race is up for grabs.

Needless to say, money counts, and judge Susan Crawford, the highly qualified Democratic candidate, needs more money. If you can spare a few dollars, it will be spent getting this very effective commercial more exposure. To see it, just click on the image:

If you like what you see, and agree this race is critically important, then please chip in! Here’s the link to Crawford’s campaign: https://www.crawfordforwi.com/?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email.

People should go to Postcards to Voters… write Postcards to get out the vote! You don’t have to live in Wisconsin to do this😊

Writing postcards for Susan Crawford through Postcards for Voters.

Musk is vile, and I am sick to death of GOP efforts to suppress voters and votes. If they can only win by manipulating maps, they should reconsider their policies. Never going to happen because the GOP is motivated by greed and fear, so we must act!!!

Very helpful sound bites in here, thanks Dan! Am donating money and time on phones — from the UK but I was born in Wisconsin and still have my Wisconsin accent. Oh Ya Hey, let’s DO THIS. What a jolt of momentum and adrenaline when Judge Crawford triumphs!

Focusing on Musk is good, and focusing on the WI Supreme Court election is even better, but let's not forget to focus on the appalling power of money. The likes of Musk and Trump should be nowhere near the White House, but there they are.
