I don't have a question, I just needed to say I'M SO FUCKING HAPPY.

I feel like last night was the first time I exhaled since November of 2016.

Mitch really miscalculated how many of us will remember him sabotaging the historic Obama presidency and we're all showing up to laugh at him now.

I expected you to mention not passing any Covid relief. Seems to me (not a political junkie) that this made it real easy for Warnock and Osloff to make their case.

That was definitely a factor and I wrote a little about it yesterday in my preview of the election.

I know how much you hate Mitch, Dan, and he deserves every bit of it. But saying it is his fault they lost Georgia is a stretch. Success has many fathers but failure is an orphan. You have to give equal weight to Trump being Trump. He doesn't care about Georgia. And I wonder if you don't get to blame the Republican party with their low level of information and lack of respect for object reality. I remember when my Dad was in the Cokesbury retirement home and he was getting weekly hate mail from Haley Barbour about how the Dems were coming to take away his Social Security and he needed to be protected by the Republican party. I listened to the Republicans on the ground on in Georgia from the Daily Podcast and they all seemed to be in La La Land. Noting they said coincided with the world I was living in with their fears of communism. I still think we need to celebrate what the people from Georgia did this year. It boarded on a miracle that will make America Great again.

I will readily admit to my hatred of Mitch and if often gets the better of me, FWIW My argument is that he is the most responsible in the moment and had the most power to do something else -- not that he is the only person that is responsible

I think you are right that he could have made a difference. But the other legs of the stool could have bellied up to the lick bar too. If it makes you feel any better, when Trump was elected we cried a lot around here and my wife felt that if she had cancer she would have just shot the SOB. I wanted to shoot Mitch.

I am finally officially hopeful. What's not to love about McConnell going down in flames in a fire he allowed to be set? (an arsonist accomplice so to speak) Merrick Garland as AG is sort of the icing on the retribution cake. It's a happy day indeed. I still think we need to make sure Dems are united as we watch Republicans self-destruct.

Nominating Merrick Garland this morning is the most amazing fuck-you I've ever witnessed in politics. I screamed when I heard, lol.
