You have it in a nutshell Dan: " why is the opposition of ten percent of Democrats a bigger story than the opposition of 100 percent of Republicans? " Why isn't the CNN headline: "Republicans obstruct Dem agenda in every way?" The only way around this, to my mind, is for Biden give a prime time speech (not a freaking news conference) about his agenda, why it is important to the American people and asking people who support it, to call their Reps and Senators. I wanted Obama to do this...now I want Biden to do this.

For god's sake who the fuck worth listening to is saying that republicans aren't partly to blame, everyone knows they're comically evil and don't want to do anything good. The difference is the fact that there are plenty of executive decisions that bind CAN DO and HE REFUSES. I don't care if you feel hurt that people know that there is PLENTY YOU CAN DO WITH EXECUTIVE ORDER. There is zero fucking reason to hold water for Biden past his first 100 days, come the fuck on.

The fact of the matter is that Biden is the only candidate we had who could have beaten the former guy; and he is too slowly come to realize that the 'deal-makers' of the past, are no longer in the Senate. He's dealing with a CULT, not a party. I hope he has a driveway moment soon.

Point taken: being President is hard, possibly impossible. It seems to me that implies those of us who do the work on the ground have to make it clear to the occupant of the moment that pressure from the left can be as annoying as pressure from the GOPers and our own rightwing.

ok fine, i hear you, but trump did almost everything he wanted because he used leverage and wasn’t afraid of confrontation. biden is playing footsy with manchin. he’s coming off soft and unable to convince anyone of anything. dems are quickly losing their grip on power yet they hold majorities. dem voters are already jumping shit noticing nothing is getting done. the DOJ is a disgrace up to this point. barr and garland are the spider-man meme.

I for one am willing to wait on Garland to move forward. None of us probably have any idea of how bad things are/were in that agency. I can only imagine the crap he is having to clean out.

And Sean, the House? Seriously, they pass stuff and it goes nowhere and sits in McConnell's graveyard. Face it, until we OWN the Senate by getting more D Senators (thinking WI, PA and maybe FL) we are going no place, very quickly.

the house is too to hold in 22 so it’s gone. despite the majority the dems in the house have been ineffective in holding trump criminals accountable for anything. haven’t even subpoenaed trump. hillary sat for 13 hours over a fake scandal and the house has yet to even ask trump to answer questions.

Obama picked Garland bec he was a centrist and Biden continued on that theme....I find myself wondering if Sally Yates would have been a better pick, but I will wait and see.

Garland is center left similar to Biden. Again, the two issues dem voters care most about at this point, voting rights and holding trump orbit accountable, the DOJ has failed to do anything.
