Why Chris Christie Should Drop Out ASAP

By staying in the race, Christie is making life easier for Donald Trump

At a recent Pod Save America live show, we played a clip of Chris Christie’s recent takedown of Donald Trump. Despite Christie’s status as a Republican who supports the overturning of Roe v. Wade, who wanted to repeal Obamacare, and who has conservative positions on taxes, crime, and immigration, the Democratic crowd went bananas for the guy who helped prepare Trump for his debates against Joe Biden in 2020.

I get it. Through all four debates, the people trying to beat Trump refused even to criticize the former President. Cowardice is so emblematic of the Republicans in the Trump era that it is almost shocking to see a Republican say out loud what the entire Republican establishment believes about Trump.

Chris Christie says he entered this race because he believes Donald Trump is unfit for office and that his return to the White House would present an existential danger to the country. If Chris Christie sincerely believes that Trump must be defeated — and I am willing to take him at his word — then he should drop out of the race right now.
