Ruth Ben-Ghiat noted that strongmen prize loyalty over expertise. Perhaps Mr. Roe meets DeSantis' need for loyalty at the expense of competence. Regardless, there's something rich about a guy named "Roe" damaging DeSantis from the inside while the rest of us hope to take him down with a different Roe from the outside.

I like this too, all the while wondering if it's a pseudonym. OTOH -- Trump is being taken down by, among others, a guy named Jack Smith, which is such an obvious pseudonym that no one would use it for a pseudonym.

You know, by this time I should not be surprised by the utter stupidity of these candidates or the complete ineptitude of their campaigns. And when of of these campaigns does something world-class dumb, where better to read about than The Message Box. Dan is great.

Is DeSantis aiming to be picked as Trump’s VP in hopes that Trump won’t be convicted until around the convention - and then when the Republicans have to dump Trump, he will say, ‘well Trump picked me to be VP, just put me at the top of the ticket.’

Unless he or Trump move from Florida, the Constitution prohibits a President and a VP from the same state. DeSantis just had the legislature change FL law so he could remain governor while a candidate for another office. Maybe he’s hoping Trump is in an out-of-state Federal Prison by then.
