Thank you for highlighting McConnell's Senate hijacking. It's been infuriating to watch and for the life of me I don't understand why Schumer and Senate Dems are so quiet on this. It's Merrick Garland all over again--he must be having flashbacks w. Lindsey Graham refusing to schedule his confirmation hearing!
We can't sit quietly on the sidelines. I'll march.
Why does Schumer go around acting like he "won" against MItch? This whole thing drives me crazy and is exactly why everyone hates Congress with its arcane rules. (Having said that there is a certain joy in watching the in-fighting going on in the GOP Congress right now. Let evil destroy itself)
I agree, Dan, that stealing time is the worst theft of all.
This makes me insane not only because MMcC is so hideous -- but only now do I understand what is happening! And if a loyal Message Box reader needs to have this explained, what is the average American's chance of fighting back? Dan, should we be calling our congress people to speak out? Is there a simple way to explain this on our own platforms and elicit action?
Great insights, Dan. I agree that the Democrats need to go on the offensive across the board to end another abuse of power by Minority Leader McConnell.
Now that the GOP has lost control of the Senate, it seems that McConnell feels the need to reassert his power - not only to Democrats, but also to his own party, as some kind of play against the conspiracy caucus. There’s a lot of jostling within the GOP right now, and his obstructionism is a useful reminder to his own party that he still claims to kingmaker.
Man, within an hour of reading this, the agreement was made! You did it Dan! https://www.cnn.com/2021/02/03/politics/senate-power-sharing-agreement-reached/index.html
Thanks for that news!
Thank you for your clarity on this issue, Dan. This makes me furious. What can WE the average citizens on the street do?

I’ve been fuming about this for days but happy to see they reached an agreement
Now that power has transferred to the Dems, can they schedule a hearing for Merrick Garland even though it was previously denied?
