I don’t think we have to wait until 2024 to see this play out. We’re going to see it on November 9th, 2022 when every single Dem win will be questioned. We will also see it on January 1, 2023 when any MAGA incumbent who lost (if there are any) will refuse to leave the house or senate.

It would be great if we started asking state GOP members who have passed voting regulations recently if they think the measures they put in place will make the elections secure. Put them in the position of either admitting they’re ineffective or of defending their work (which will make it harder for anyone to question it later)

Thank you Beth. As to yout points, see Rachel Maddows' free podcast "ULTRA" that is out Today. For context, see Vanity Fairs' article "It's Been This Bad Before" also, available Today.

The regressive Republicans are looking to establish a right wing dictatorship that will allow the rich and large companies to prosper to the detriment if everyone else. They will NEVER stop trying to accomplish this feat.

We live in an oligarchy.

Sometimes I think people forget (and young people may have never learned) exactly how few problematic ballots threw the 2000 election into chaos, and how that chaos resulted in the Republicans on SCOTUS calling the election for Bush II. The infamous butterfly ballots were in just one FL county. The sum total of hanging chads and other counting difficulties came down to just 537 ballots.

The Republicans don't even have to succeed at intimidating enough people from voting or disqualifying enough ballots, although they very well might - all they have to do is create enough chaos in enough places. In addition to becoming poll workers, if anyone can quickly clone Mark Elias, now would be a good time to do so.

And though it was widely ignored, Duval County (Duval County and Jacksonville are a single metro government) deputies had three polling places roadblocked from 3PM until 6PM to “investigate” suspected criminal activity in those areas, suppressing an estimated 25 thousand to 30 thousand black votes.

I expect more of that kind of BS will happen this election. Urging everyone to vote as early as possible.

I think of this as a mash up of J6 and the brooks brothers riot on steroids. The (competent) elites are in charge of stealing the election.

I don't know how often you make these posts free, but this one would be a great candidate so that it can be shared widely. I just heard Adam Kinzinger say on Morning Joe that anywhere an election denier is running, they need to be defeated. Thanks for this.

Thank you, Dan. I am grateful that your bias is towards action. I hope everyone works hard to turn out Dem votes. I hope we can exceed the ‘20 Dem Vote by a few percent.

Question: is anyone giving thought to defusing the ISL SCOTUS case with an amendment to the current electoral reform bill under consideration? It seems like a provision holding that state legislative action in federal elections is subject to review and rejection by Federal and State courts would be effective (though I have misplaced my “Fake Internet Lawyer” hat I usually wear while writing this stuff).

Im not annoyed that our democracy is at stake — I’m freakin terrified.

I’m doing all I know to do about it.

It feels like I’m shouting into the wind most days. Like everyone else is going about their life, assuming it will all be politics as usual.

I would LOVE to be wrong. Love to know that a blue wave is mobilized. The view from Texas is daunting, despite us having Beto, the best candidate I’ve seen since Obama.

Tell me something good that’s happening where y’all are!
