Re the end of this podcast: you guys truly do not understand how divisive a figure Mamdani is for the Democratic Party. I consider myself a moderate, but I would back an ordinary progressive who won a D primary. A person who says things like “Israel has the right to exist as a a state with equal rights for everyone” and fails to acknowledge why we have and need this one (relatively tiny) Jewish state in the world demonstrates such a lack of understanding of history and absolutely should not be the mayor of the city with the largest population of Jews. Schumer holds statewide office. How can you ask him to endorse this man? If he did so, he’d further alienate so many registered Dems in NYC and beyond. That Mamdani won the D primary in NYC is making it harder to flip nearby congressional districts like mine (NY-17).

No disrespect, but I don't get your arguments against Mamdani. He won the *Democratic primary in NYC,* so clearly, he isn't alienating "so many registered Democrats in NYC."
And as far as what appears to be your larger issue of him saying that Israel has the right to exist with equal rights for everyone," why NOT have equal rights for everyone in what is supposed to be a small-d democratic country like Israel? I too support Israel's right to exist as a Jewish state, but that doesn't mean non-Jewish residents shouldn't have the same rights as Jewish ones. Not sure I see a problem with Mamdani's statement here.
