Texan Dems leaving the state has brought awareness of gerrymandering to the majority of voters/citizens across the country. You ‘d think the majority of Americans would already be aware of this undemocratic tactic but the truth is most citizens are not that engaged in politics on a daily basis. Bringing awareness to the citizens is PRICELESS to the cause to save our democracy.
As a texan, I'm fairly sure that Abbott can pass $$$ for Floods from his discretionary spending without even calling the legislature into order. It's all just a way to justify this redistricting meeting. Christina Morales showed the timing of how the flood stuff just didn't have any meetings called but the redistricting had tons of meetings called. Other things they are trying to pass is a bill that prevents school districts from lobbying with like TASB but allows oil gas beef whatever lobbiests to still lobby. there is some other stuff too.
Dems should hammer on how Rs have to resort to this nuclear gerrymandering because their economic policies are so unpopular. Hammer on the economy and shoot for the dummy-mander.
Paul Begala thinks there’s potential for this to be a wave election. Check him out on Hacks on Tap. If the Dems message this in a remotely competent way.. oh disregard..
I liked this and, would have liked a transcript too as it is often faster for me to read than to watch. Though it is a joy to see you guys. Good discussion and do more of this.

I want to be optimistic but Dan’s analysis hits the nail on the electoral head.
