I got frustrated over some negative posts and explained the Biden plan for education costs, and addressing current Student Loans on social media, and even the language from Biden's website was too dense for a lot of people to grasp. Once I broke it down further, into math showing the potential reduction in payments, the reaction was shock, followed by enthusiasm. Is TikTok political translator a job? Because it should be.

These talking point messages are great, and I really think they would interest my former students and athletes. Is anyone turning them into stills that can be shared on Instagram? All of the young people I know are on there or Tik Tok, which are not as conducive for sharing YouTube videos as Facebook or Twitter (which is where the olds are).

Here are social slides I've made for other Message Box messages in a public google drive. Please spread them around. For the young voter slides, the folder is How to Fire Up Young voters. Would love to help spread the word and can create, but I have NO Instagram community. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1cbEybhW-N_unTIIRUCdV9y_eSd6l7Hg1?usp=sharing

Excellent! I’m going to use parts of this and do a post on each of these issues highlighting his plans (not that I have much of a following but every little bit helps, right?) I’ll spread my posts out over the next couple of weeks. Really enjoying this blog!

Hi Dan,

Thanks for this very informative post. I have been relying on The Message Box a lot when canvassing, phone banking and text banking.

I am concerned that 935 respondents across 10 states may not be a large enough sample size to make sound strategy, especially given the differences between states. As if I don't have enough to worry about.

I assume you are comfortable with the sample size and would appreciate any insight that you could provide.

Thanks,

Nick

Dan - Totally agree! We need to do a better job getting talking points out to this demo on these specific motivating issues. Biden's Marketing Team should come up with Instagram worthy pics on messaging these key points. On a separate note, thanks to you/PSA on letting listeners know about donating to Flip the TX State House via Future Now Fund. We're only 9 seats away. It's very doable. Our Future Now Fund Giving Circle called, 'A Seat at the Table' would love donations of $20.20 for the 2020 TX Flip! www.TurningTX.com. A tweet or two would be amazing!! @TurningTx

Is there a page I can send people to so they can verify these Biden plans and platforms for themselves?

As a 22 year old the idea of climate change being the biggest enthusiasm shifter makes sense to me. I try to share pro-Biden content as much as possible and the Crooked Media socials give me a lot to choose from. Did this research dig into if there was a particular medium that encouraged young people to resonate with that message the most, like are the side by side comparisons the most effective or simply laying out Biden's climate plan by itself?

I'm the precinct captain in a very Trumpy precinct in a very Trumpy county in PA. A few weeks ago, I made targeted calls to the 18-30yo Ds in my ward, got through to five of them. Three were not sure if they were even going to vote, they didn't know what Biden's positions were on issues that were important to them, AND they were open to learn more. When I sent out letters on our down ballot candidates and the mail-in procedures to all of my Dems, I included this Biden messaging grid. If this link doesn't work, let me know and I'll try to post it a different way: https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#search/biden+messaging+/FMfcgxwJXVFjcGVcnlSrJXqHlHWcPjGZ?projector=1&messagePartId=0.1

Also, after I made my calls I let the other Dem leaders in our county know about my admittedly small sample non-enthusiastic young registered Dems. We have many precincts that don't have captains so I grabbed five other precinct lists from Votebuilder and have been making calls...same phenomenon everywhere.

I just posted a link to your article to the private FB county Dems page and asked for more volunteers to make targeted calls, and I've already received a few responses.

Dan, thanks for this, and all of the work you and the Pod Save peeps are doing to empower us on the ground here. I honestly think I would have been struggling to make these calls myself if I wasn't able to convince other Dems that those contacts are worth making by posting your article.
