Welcome to this week’s edition of “Stuff You Should Consume,” — a periodic email for Message Box subscribers with important and interesting political content.
I watched Obama’s full speech last night in WI and was reminded of what is missing in our politics right now. Integrity, passion, dedication, humor, greatness. I loved it and only hope to see more of this from Democrats going forward - wow it was amazing.
Dan; I love you man, but you are following a great message box where you mentioned NOT to read the polls, with these polls. I am working my ass off on PHONE/TEXT banks and my own politically active thread and have decided to follow your advice; I will continue to work hard until election day, and am subscribing to Michael Moore's 'Tsunami of truth' missives to help give me hope... which after all, is not nothing ;)..... Thanks for all you do...
Re: The Rs wealthy candidates — I’m SO done w living in an oligarchy. Saw Bernie yesterday in San Marcos, who reiterated that’s the situation. Greg Casar, running for Congress in that district, is a future progressive rockstar, so there’s hope. Somehow we’ve got to shit can Citizens United, as a start.
Dan: big ask, please reply. I live in Oregon. Not only is our governership at risk (you all did interview Tina Kotek last week; good!) We also need you to interview Val Hoyle, who is running for Peter DeFazio's House seat (w his blessing; he was a quiet, remarkable, truly effective House Member and leader, he is the real deal and so is Val.) GOP pouring masses of $ into her sickening maga Republican opponent) whose ads are lies) -- She is fantastic. Brilliant, good hearted, and a creative pol. Best: she is funny too. We NEED her to win this; huge for Oregon and the country. Also our resident ahole Phil Knight, Oregon'r richest man (Nike) is behaving very, very very very very badly with his money. Steve Prefontaine would be furious with him if he knew. PLEASE HELP! PLEASE!

Another I love is Josh Shapiro. There are quite a few though.
